NOVEMBER Positivity Detectives!

PRIZE THIS MONTH!!!

“Every day may not be good…..but there’s something good in every day.”

~ Alice Morse Earle

Most of us think more about what goes wrong in our day to day life and not enough about what goes right.

For evolutionary reasons this is a very important function of our brains to constantly look for disasters and potential danger.  While it's a useful function it also will naturally overemphasize and actually magnify bad events or lead us to worry about future bad events that may not even happen.  While anticipating and preparing are very important skills the anxiety and fear our “catastrophic brains” create can also be damaging.  To overcome our brains’ natural catastrophic bent we have to actively train ourselves to also focus on what went well to bring a truthful counter balance to our brains’ operating systems.

 THE CHALLENGE

The challenge this month is to actively look for and identify positive things we encounter in our day. This can be at work or outside of work. When you find something positive see if you can take it to the next level and acknowledge it to others. This way the positive things are magnified and elevated and can be an inspiration to others.

Beginner level: Pick one day and identify 3 positive things

Intermediate level: Identify at least one positive thing on at least 5 days at work

Advanced level: Identify at least one positive thing on at least 5 days at work and send at least one acknowledgement. This can be telling others what you found, sending a shout out on social, sending it to a Kudos board….anything other way you can think of to spread the word

THE PRIZE

One night’s stay at the amazing Mt Engadine Lodge in Kananaskis! If you complete the challenge at the intermediate level or higher you are eligible to be entered into the draw for the monthly prize! If you participate at the advanced level you get 2 tickets in the draw.
